Girls’ Construction Summer Camps

Where STEM Meets Sawdust

The Whitbeck Construction Education Center in Gansevoort, NY, comes alive with the sounds of saws, drills, and excited voices as middle school girls trade cell phones for power tools in these engaging, empowering camps.

Why We Do Camp

Building projects. Building futures.

Millions of skilled trade jobs are going unfilled, and women make up only a small share of the workforce. NCTWC’s Girls Construction Summer Camp is changing that. These girls leave camp with confidence, leadership skills, and a vision for what they can become. They are the next generation of builders.

Girls Construction Summer Camps
About Our Summer Camps

Camp 1

In Camp 1, campers jump into hands-on construction, building toolboxes, dodecahedrons, planter boxes, cornhole games, and more. They also hit the road for field trips before finishing the week with the always-popular Construction Olympics. For many, it’s their first time using power tools — and watching their confidence grow is just as rewarding as watching their projects take shape.

Camp 2

Ready for a bigger challenge? Camp 2 takes their skills to the next level with builds including sitting benches, Adirondack chairs, charcuterie boards, and a team project donated to the community.

They Leave Knowing They Can Build Anything

Across both camps, girls experience STEM, construction, creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork — all while having a blast.

The result? A new generation of young women inspired to explore the world of building and design – leaving with projects and memories they will treasure for years They don’t just leave with something they built. They leave knowing they can build anything.
