Our In-School Builder Presentation program brings successful local builders to offer their perspective and experiences in the construction industry. Discussion centers on the process of building a home, the various trades involved and career opportunities. Students learn how school subjects such as math, technology, science, and design play a role in today’s construction industry careers. Held on school property. Format is presentation style with demonstrations. 60 minutes in length. Dates and times are coordinated with the school.

Job Site Construction Tours
Local builders expose students to working construction sites. Site visits explore the different phases of construction which includes the trades and skill sets needed to perform the work. Students learn how school subjects such as math, technology, science, and design play a role in today’s construction industry careers. Tour locations are identified based on the sites’ phases in the construction process in order to provide maximum learning opportunities. Dates and times vary, and tours are coordinated with schools based on builders’ availability.

Career Exploration
We work with numerous local area businesses to coordinate student tours of their companies. This exploration gives students an informative introduction to a career in that business and actively demonstrates real life experiences. Students gain valuable insight into potential careers. In-School Toolbox Assembly
The In-School Toolbox Assembly program is a hands-on, engaging exercise that provides students with an introduction to building and creativity. The class is led by a professional in the building industry, and 1-2 school staff to assist depending. The Toolbox Kit includes pre-cut, wood pieces and screws needed for assembly of a toolbox, plus tape measure and a kid’s tool apron for them to take home. Held on school property. 60 minutes in length. Dates and times are coordinated with the school. Materials donation $7 per student.

In-School Dodecahedron Build
The in-school dodecahedron build is an interactive, hands-on activity that involves economics, teamwork, time management, and assembly technique. The project requires constant participation and teamwork in groups of 3 to 5 for a successful build. The class is led by a professional in the building industry. Held on school property. 60 minutes in length. Dates and times are coordinated with the school. Materials donation $6 per student.
